TURKISH COFFEE
The Turkish coffee is the name given to the methodology of preparation of “kahve” (coffee) invented by Turks. It has an original identity and tradition with its’ special taste, foam, cooking, presentation. It’s the first coffee offered with its grounds. Its’ origin is believed to be based in South Ethiopia and spread in 14th century by the researches. At the beginning, it had been prepared by brewing the coffee in Arab peninsula. Then it gained its taste with Turkish preparation method. Coffee was introduced to Europe by Turks and was prepared with Turkish coffee method for long years. As British tea tradition, the Turkish coffee has time in Turkish society. It is usually drunk between breakfast and lunch. The first meal of the day in Turkish is “kahvaltı” meaning food eaten before coffee. The coffee fortune telling is just done with Turkish coffee. Thus, it is one main element in religious aids, visits.
